Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Heat the oil with the seeds over low heat, without letting it smoke.
  2. When the oil turns a deep red-orange, about 5 minutes, remove from heat. If the seeds crackle loudly, the heat is too high.
  3. Let cool and strain.
  4. Store in a jar. It adds color to rice, pasteles, and alcapurria and turnover doughs.
