Ingredientes

Time: 35 min · Servings: 6
Ingredients
- 2 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 3 tablespoons sofrito
- 1 packet sazón
- 1 teaspoon adobo
- 6 slices frying cheese or white cheese
- 6 hamburger buns
- Mayo-ketchup, lettuce, tomato and onion for serving
- Shoestring potato sticks (optional) for serving
Preparation
- Mix the beef with the sofrito, sazón and adobo without overworking it. Shape 6 patties a little wider than the bun and press a dimple in the center with your thumb (so they don't puff up).
- Set up the charcoal at medium-high heat and clean and oil the grate.
- Grill the burgers 4–5 minutes per side, flipping only once and without pressing them, until they reach 160°F inside.
- In the last minute, put the cheese on top and cover. Toast the buns at the edge of the grill.
- Build with mayo-ketchup, lettuce, tomato, onion and, if you like, potato sticks on top like the food trucks do.
- Grill tip: medium-high heat (400–450°F). For a ¾-inch patty: 4–5 minutes per side to 160°F, the safe temperature for ground beef. Don't press them with the spatula (the juice runs out) and flip only once, when they release from the grate on their own.
